May 20, 2010 · I have a Windows 2008 foundation server, and when I try to connect a vista machine to the domain I get the 'network path can't be found'. I had no problem adding a Windows 7 machine to the domain. I have made sure that the DC/DNS/DCHP server is indeed the dns, dhcp server for the Vista client machine. Nov 05, 2015 · Upon restart it again would not connect. So I did what you suggest and manually gave the PC a IP address and DNS. It worked right away. So I did the same for the main PC and again it worked right away. So at the very least I got both PC's back up and running at the moment. However I still can't get my phone or tablet to connect to the internet. Symptoms: User can't access web base applications and unable to resolve DNS. Further investigations on client pc after connecting to VPN profile found out that there is a static host route on the PC for one of the DNS server IP but pointing to local host IP ( not the VPN IP). I honestly don't know what a DNS is, but I've been looking around other forums, and one thing I DID try was "nslookup" in cmd, and I didn't get an IP back. I'm really not good with computers, so if anyone can help while dumbing it down, that'd be great.
